If you are on the island of Kaua’i in the Hawaiian islands and need to find a beach ASAP, Kapa’a Beach is just what you need. Located on Kaua’i’s eastern coast near the town of the same name, Kapa’a Beach offers beautiful views of the ocean to the east of the island.

Kapa’a is a small unincorporated town with a population of approximately 12,000 inhabitants. The town hosts many accommodations for visitors to the island and sits on the important Route 56 – Kuhio Highway – which is the main coastal and largest road on the island.

The beach extends from the Wailua River in the south to the Kapa’a Stream in the north approximately 3 km / 1.9 miles.

Getting to Kapa’A Beach from Lihue
Kapa’a lies to the north of Lihue along the coastal highway. Take Route 56 north and you will reach the town in approximately 20 minutes. The distance is approximately 10.7 miles / 17.2 km.

While there are places to park near the beach, parking is limited. If you are unable to find a space in one of the designated parking lots, you can park at the nearby paid lots. There are parking lots for the businesses in the area as well. However make sure you are a patron of these places before you use them.
