While I don’t know every single word in the English language, I do not believe that there is a single word to mean stimulating the CNS. The word stimulate is defined as: raise levels of physiological or nervous activity in (the body or any biological system). Note that “nervous activity” is already included in the definition. This is why you could say the following sentence: Electrodes were used to stimulate the muscle. In reality the electrical signal from the electrode interacts with the nerve, which then causes the muscle to contract.

The CNS part is to specify the nervous activity being excited. In this case the sentence references the CNS rather than, for example, the PNS (peripheral nervous system). Unfortunately, I think stimulating the CNS is the shortest phrase you can say for this meaning.

Unfortunately, as I do not know Greek, I cannot answer that part of the question.
