About TeachTranslateTravelRepeat and Me

Hello! My name is Jamie. I’m a freelance German and Spanish to English translator. I am also currently taking a break from being a German and English lecturer/teacher. I am currently based in the UK although I will be moving (most likely) to Japan in March 2022. My passions include teaching languages, translating, travelling. Travelling often involves following animals that come into my field of vision trying to get them to love me. This is what ultimately led me to create TeachTranslateTravelRepeat.

This blog has many purposes. It is, in essence, a scrapbook of my life. As “TeachTranslateTravelRepeat” suggests, it focuses on teaching, translating, and travelling (with and without animals). I try to update it with new content at regular intervals but it does not always happen. The pandemic has also made it more difficult to travel, so some of the trips will be old ones. TeachTranslateTravelRepeat also has some of my amateur photography. Some of them I am proud of or they help to illustrate a talking point. So far I have taken all of them using a smartphone.

To get in contact with me for any reason (work, translation, fashion/travel tips, funny cat photos, etc.), please the Contact Me form! Alternatively you can email me at TeachTranslateTravelRepeat @gmail.com.

If you are looking for an English or German teacher, click here for an updated version of my teaching CV. If you are looking for a translator, click here for an updated version of my translation CV.

You can see some of my translation work by following the links below. As I specialise in medical, technical and scientific translations. I often translate material that will never make it to the attention of the general public or are confidential. The following list only contains published documents that the public can access. Please keep reading for short descriptions and links to the translation projects:

My Own Publications

Before becoming a translator and a teacher, I had publications of my own from my time as a budding engineer/scientist. This was long before TeachTranslateTravelRepeat. If you are looking for those, they can be found below. Note how much I have grown since that time (especially in terms of language)! Please remember that these publications were written in conjunction with other authors. The style of writing reflects the input from other collaborators as well as my own at the time.
